Вчера, для участия в предстоящем в Бардовике-доме концерте, к нам приехали молодой та­лант­ли­вый скрипач Степан Лавров, обу­ча­ю­щий­ся в Лондонском королевском колледже, и вы­пуск­ник нашей Хоровой студии, а ныне — студент V курса Санкт-Петербургской кон­сер­ва­тории,— Евгений На­го­ви­цын. Му­зы­кан­там предстоит ис­пол­нить серь­ёз­ней­шую программу. Доста­точно лишь назвать такие про­из­ве­дения как: «Вариации» Паганини, Скри­пич­ный концерт Брамса, Арию Альфреда из «Травиаты», Арию Хозе из «Кармен». В роли аккомпаниатора должен будет выступить В. А. Пчёлкин. Учитывая нашу занятость на концертах, для репетиций осталось лишь ночное время. Музыкантам предстоит серьёзная и кропотливая работа. Одна ночная репетиция уже позади, однако, работа продолжилась и сегодня утром, после завтрака. Учитывая это обстоятельство, у детей была отменена утренняя репетиция, и они с удовольствием отправились на прогулку. Наконец-то можно поиграть! Любимая игра мальчиков — «в войнушку». Проживание в лесу навело на мысль о «казаках-разбойниках». Играли серьёзно. Впрочем, всё, чем занимаются наши дети, всегда не «по-нарошку». Серьёзно поделились на отряды, загадали пароли, и стали, охотясь за «языком», ловить и брать в плен друг друга. Выведыванием «пароля» занимались особо пытливые. Допрашивали внимательно, с пристрастием, однако взятые в плен держались мужественно и достойно. Плакали, но молчали. Закончилась «война» быстро. Внезапный сигнал на обед тут же примирил обе враждующие стороны и прекратил все боевые действия. Обедали противники за одним столом, тут же забыв о полученных боевых ранениях. В медсанбат, к счастью, никто не обращался. Вечерний концерт давали в городе Куксхафен (Cuxhaven). Количество желающих услышать хор уже настораживает. Нам даже не удалось провести видеосъёмку, так как протиснуться сквозь плотные ряды слушателей было невозможно. Люди стояли даже на улице. Впервые предстал перед немецкой публикой Степан Лавров, исполнив «Вариации» Паганини. Яркое виртуозное исполнение труднейшего произведения буквально взорвало переполненный зал.
